An extremely sensitive amino acid reported to develop 46% more latents than DFO. Developed prints may be enhanced with Zinc Chloride/HFE-7100 spray and visualized under green ALS light 530nm with dark orange or red filtration. Supplied as pre-measured liquids which are combined before use. HFE-7100 based. > More |

This engineered fluid is a carrier solvent for Ninhydrin or DFO in latent fingerprint development on porous surfaces. Get more detailed images without CFCs or flammable solvents. HFE-7100 does not dissolve most inks or the amino acids transferred to the porous substrate in a fingerprint. It carries dissolved Ninhydrin or DFO to the edges of fingerprint ridges. And because HFE-7100 does not absorb moisture, ridge diffusion is minimized. > More

CN is photo-luminescent cyanoacrylate. This CN dye blend is
specific to print residue. Developed prints can be observed
almost immediately in many cases, with a fume time of only
5 minutes. CN is cured into a proprietary, steel wool cartridge
with an indefinite shelf life. It is dispersed using a butane
torch with a flameless burner for easy use in field or lab. The
amount of CN in each cartridge is pre-measured, reducing the
risk of over development. CN developed prints are visualized
with a wide spectrum, UV to 515nm, but are optimized
at 450nm. The highly luminescent, stable prints can often be
seen from 12 to 20’ away. > More

Iodine Fuming is one of the traditional development methods generally used on porous materials such as paper and cardboard, and is usually applied before ninhydrin or silver nitrate processing. Iodine is available in pre-measured vials for use with conventional iodine fuming apparatus, and is for use in a plastic bag fuming chamber or in disposable Iodine Fuming Applicators. The Disposable Fuming Applicator consists of a flexible plastic applicator containing a breakable glass vial of pre-measured iodine crystals, drying reagents, and easy flow through filters. The applicator is easy and convenient to use in the laboratory or at scenes. First, attach the mouthpiece tubing to the end of the applicator after removing the plastic cap. Next, crush the breakable iodine containing tube by squeezing the center section with your fingers. Then open the hinge cap on the front of the applicator. While holding your palm around the center section for warmth, blow gently through the mouthpiece to release the iodine vapors directed to the surface to be processed. After activation, the applicator can be sealed for reuse by closing the hinged lid on the front of the applicator. > More

TEC is one of the newer and more successful fluorescent dyes for cyanoacrylate developed latent prints. TEC absorbs uv light near 350nm and emits a narrow band at 614nm. This very wide Stokes Shift contributes to the ease of filtering the excitation light from the fluorescing print which makes it clearer and easier to photograph. The formulation locks the dye into the cyanoacrylate and therefore more dye remains in the print after rinsing. This dye has also been successfully used with cyanoacrylate to develop prints on cadavers. > More
